My name is Emily Cannon, and I am an undergraduate senior at Louisiana State University pursuing a dual degree in Sociology and Political Science.
This portfolio is for anyone interested in learning about my academic experiences, recent achievements, goals for the future, and professional passions.
Past, Present, and Future
School
I am currently a senior Louisiana State University studying Sociology and Political Science. After I graduate, I plan to obtain a master’s degree in Public Policy and attend Law School. Outside of class, I have been thoroughly involved in various initiatives and organizations on campus.
Work
Being raised in Louisiana, the second-largest incarcerator in the world, has fueled my desire to pursue a career in criminal justice. I plan to use my education and work experience to promote justice and sustainability through public policy. I have spent the past several years building my professional skills to make me more qualified to reach these goals.
Leisure
In my free time, you will usually see me spending quality time with my friends, burying my head in a good book, or running the gorgeous campus lakes. During the fall semester I dedicate myself to LSU football and halloween festivities; In the spring, I’m enjoying Louisiana festivals and crawfish.
